⛵️ Finding ways to generate green hydrogen will be critical to decarbonising heavy industry, particularly for remote island nations with scarcer access to clean power.

That’s exactly what DRIFT Energy Ltd is doing—building a fleet of high performance sailing vessels to capture wind energy, generate green hydrogen, then distribute it to coastal and island communities. 

They’ve just announced their £5M Series A led by Octopus Ventures, including our investment via Blue Action Accelerator and an Innovate UK grant. Congratulations to founder Ben Medland and the whole DRIFT team on this huge milestone, which looks set to enable production of their vessels from next year.
