♻️ Yesterday we celebrated the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste to raise awareness of the importance of the problem and its possible solutions at all levels. On this day, EUPPA reaffirms its commitment to minimizing waste throughout the potato processing chain. European potato processors prioritize reducing food loss from field to plate by following the strategy of "prevent, reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover." 🥔 EUPPA members use 98.5% of the potato, with by-products contributing to food, feed, and bioenergy. Less than 2% of combined waste ends up in landfills. Through these efforts, we help drive the circular economy, ensuring a more sustainable future. #IDAFLW2024 #IDFLW

🤝 The potato value chain meets in the heart of Europe Yesterday, EUPPA's Secretary General Nuria M. and President Erwin Pardon had the pleasure to meet with Europatat - the European Potato Trade Association 's Secretary General Berta Redondo Benito and President Tigran Richter . This meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration within the potato sector. In line with EUPPA's policy goals and by fostering cooperation, we can secure the future of sustainable potato production in Europe and beyond. 🍟🥔 We look forward to continuing this valuable dialogue and strengthening partnerships across the entire potato value chain.
