This year, we welcomed the Tramedico team to Nepal! Our Country Director, Anil Gorkhaly , shared the history and achievements of ECF at our Kathmandu office. We were excited to see their appreciation for our work! The Tramedico team started at the Gorkha Lions Eye Service Centre, where they learned about our activities. They then visited a small eye clinic in Bandipur and ended their trip at the Himalaya Eye Hospital in Pokhara. Our Nepalese colleagues warmly escorted the team in Pokhara, giving them a tour of the hospital. They also helped hand over important equipment and a letter of appreciation. Thank you, Tramedico for your support in improving eye care in Nepal!

Our Journey to review activities in Ca Mau Province - Vietnam Our CEO, Björn Stenvers , along with Jop Bruin - Project Information Manager & Fundraising, along with our team in Vietnam, recently visited the Ca Mau Eye and Skin Hospital to check on the ongoing project for 2023-2025. We also met patients who had recently had surgeries, and their smiles reminded us of why we do this work. Seeing the positive impact of our partnership was truly heartwarming. There is still a need to create a complete eye care center at the provincial level. We also had a good meeting with Dr Tran Quang Khoa, the Deputy Director of the Ca Mau Health Department to discuss our potential collaboration in the next phase. As we look back on what we’ve achieved and the gaps we’ve filled, we feel excited about the work still to come. Our partnership with local teams in Ca Mau is strong, and we look forward to supporting future projects to prevent blindness and improve eye care for everyone.

Meet, Anh Duong (8 years old) from the southernmost point of the Mekong Delta, Ca Mau Province. She received strabismus surgery last quarter. This week, our team conducts monitoring trip to Ca Mau - Vietnam, where we visit several key project implementing partners in order to enhance strong relationships being built within the community and discuss plans for the next 3-5 years. During our visit, we had the opportunity to reconnect with Anh Duong. Witnessing her bright smile during our meeting was truly heartwarming. Her mother shared that the child has gained much more confidence in participating in extracurricular activities she once hesitated to join, such as the Storytelling Contest. It was a joy to see her transformation from a shy girl to a proactive and confident young student, thanks to the impact of vision correction, which often goes unnoticed.

🏃♂️✨ On September 22nd, Eye Care Foundation joined 100 participants for the 18th Dam tot Dam run! The weather was perfect, and everyone had a blast. 🎉 After crossing the finish line, runners were greeted at the Eye Care Centre Zaandam with live music from Accu Fanfare and a warm welcome from our colleagues. Tired runners even enjoyed relaxing sports massages from Sportmassage Keur! A huge thank you to all the runners, supporters, and sponsors for making this fundraising event a success! 🙌❤️
