Oncovita raise 8M€ to support the development of its MVdeltaC immunotherapeutic vaccine in oncology

OncoVITA décroche 8M€ de financements. Cette biotech francilienne, spin-off de l’Institut Pasteur, cible les tumeurs solides avec MVdeltaC un candidat vaccin immuno-thérapeutique utilisant le virus de la rougeole. Dirigée par Jean-Francois Le Bigot, PhD  (ex-Citoxlab), Oncovita a collecté 4,5 M€ en subvention et prêt dans le cadre du plan d’investissement France 2030 opéré par Bpifrance et 3,5 M€ en provenance d’investisseurs privés. Les fonds permettront notamment la production d’un premier lot clinique de MVdeltaC, puis l’initiation d’un essai clinique de phase 1/2a dans des tumeurs solides courant 2025. Oncolytic attenuated measles virus encoding NY-ESO-1 induces HLA I and II presentation of this tumor antigen by melanoma and dendritic cells

In this study, we show that the attenuated Schwarz MV encoding human NY-ESO-1 is able to express this tumor antigen in infected melanoma tumor cells, while retaining its oncolytic activity. Upon infection of melanoma cells, NY-ESO-1 is strongly expressed and NY-ESO-1 peptides are efficiently presented by infected tumor cells to specific CD8 + and CD4 + T cells by HLA class I and II molecules. We also show that MVny replicates modestly in monocyte-derived DCs compared to melanoma cells, allowing DCs to present NY-ESO-1 peptides to specific CD4 + and CD8 + T cells. Altogether, these results demonstrate that MVny displays an oncolytic activity against melanoma cell lines and induces NY-ESO-1 peptides presentation not only by tumor cells, but also by antigen presenting cells such as monocyte-derived DCs.
