Supply Change Capital believes in a future of food that is sustainability mindful, supply chain efficient, better for you, and culture rich. We invest at the intersection of food, culture, and technology to catalyze early stage sustainable businesses that modernize the food system. 

The firm is led by two GPs who combine food domain expertise with tech and investing experience. Noramay Cadena is an aerospace engineer turned investor. She previously launched an early stage fund that invested in over 20 manufacturing and supply chain companies. Shayna Harris brings an insider's eye to the industry, from architecting the 21st-century chocolate supply chain at Mars to building the groundbreaking food tech company Farmer’s Fridge. She advises Fortune 100 companies and startups on navigating the fast-changing food terrain, and writes for Forbes. The duo have 40 investments between them and 2 investments in the Supply Change portfolio.
 
The firm is based in Chicago and Los Angeles.

This summer we welcome Lucy H. as our newest Fellow, recent graduate from Northwestern University with majors in Communication Studies and Economics. With campus involvement in the PE/VC club, she hopes to put her knowledge and skills into practice through the Supply Change Capital fellowship program. Lucy is also an avid food-lover, and her favorite food is Japanese Udon noodles!

This summer we welcome Alyssa Daniel as our newest summer fellow. Alyssa currently holds a BA in Economics from Spelman College and will be pursuing her MBA this Fall at Columbia Business School in New York City. Prior to interning with SCC, Alyssa was a private equity associate with PNC Mezzanine Capital where she was primarily responsible for deal diligence and portfolio management. Alyssa's favorite foods are fruits - especially kiwis and mangos!

Helios leverages advanced technology to analyze billions of signals in real-time for their enterprise clients. They can analyze data at the farm and facility level, empowering customers to proactively prepare for supply chain disruptions.

Case in point: In December 2023, European potato prices rose as heavy rains sunk potato spuds, limiting supplies during a high demand period for this Christmas-dinner staple. Farmers sidelined tractors, which have difficulty navigating waterlogged fields, limiting collection. The crops risked rotting if left too long.

Helios flagged this type of disruption in advance, predicting the precipitation impacting potatoes in mid-to-late October – weeks before the price of processed potatoes rose to an all time seasonal high. The information helps mitigate millions of dollars in potential price increases from the bad harvest.
