The Governor’s Office of Energy is proud to announce that Nevada has been awarded $7.5 million in FY 2024 funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Grid Deployment Office through the Grid Resilience State and Tribal Formula Grants. These funds will be distributed to Nevada’s small utilities through a competitive application process, enabling them to strengthen and modernize the state’s electric grid. This critical funding will enhance grid resilience, helping Nevada better withstand extreme weather events and natural disasters. #BuildingABetterGrid

Matthew Brown – a proud native Nevadan – has spent the past 11 years in Nevada state service drawing on the vast knowledge and experience of state leadership and holds a Master of Business of Administration degree. He believes the guiding light of state service is accountability and transparency. Prior to his appointment with Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy as the Deputy Director, he served in the Governor’s Finance Office working with various state agencies to effectively execute their biennium budget. Outside of state service he enjoys volunteering in his local community coaching youth sports and spending time and laughing with his family. The Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy is excited to have Matt's leadership as we continue to strive to provide all Nevadans affordable, reliable, sustainable, and clean energy choices through a holistic and realistic approach.
