MetaMask and digital identity firm SPACE ID aim to simplify crypto and make crypto payments "idiot-proof". Instead of copy/pasting a 42-character public address of random letters and numbers and hoping you got the correct address (or risk losing it all)... MetaMask users will be able to create a “single, secure, customizable handle” (e.g., satoshi21) to send and receive transactions—thanks to Space ID’s integration. MetaMask Product Lead Christian Montoya : ‘The Space ID integration should make "it easier and safer for MetaMask users to send and receive crypto on any EVM-compatible chain." This is exactly the type of steps companies and projects need to make if crypto is ever going to reach true mainstream adoption. Basic actions like buying/selling and sending/receiving need to be as easy as possible, and integrations like this are a clear indication of progress of this trend.
