The National Treasury Management Agency provides a range of asset and liability management services to Government. 

These services include borrowing on behalf of the Government and management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, NewERA, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and the National Development Finance Agency. 

It also assigns staff and provides business and support services and systems to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland and Home Building Finance Ireland.

The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) has been nominated for the “Impacting Investor of the Year 2024” award at the inaugural GRI Europe awards - please vote for us! https://lnkd.in/eNKhGQmS 

The nomination is in recognition of ISIF’s ambitious €500m Investment Programme which is supporting transformational development projects in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, and Kilkenny. This programme will help to revitalise Ireland’s key urban centres and unlock places to live, work and socialise in the heart of Ireland’s cities. 

The project being used as the exemplar project by GRI, is ISIF investment in Treaty Stone Partnership DAC which is developing One Opera Square, 12,111m2 of Grade A office space in the Opera Scheme in Limerick. ISIF’s commercial investment to develop One Opera Square unlocked other sources of funding and enabled the delivery of the overall scheme. This investment showcases how ISIF can use its capital flexibility to unlock high impact projects in a genuinely differentiated manner.

One Opera Square is due to complete in Q1 2024, and we believe the GRI award would be a wonderful tribute to the development of a site which has lain dormant for 20 years, and to the hard work of all our partners on the project including: Barry O’Sullivan, Limerick City & Council and Limerick Twenty Thirty.

This week, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) was delighted to participate in an event organised by Global SWF to present its 2024 #GSRscoreboard. 

In the 2024 GSR Leaderboard, ISIF was ranked first alongside Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), BCI, NZ Super Fund, and Temasek.

The scoreboard ranks sovereign wealth funds and public pension funds based on global best practices in governance, sustainability, and resilience.

Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) investee ATA has been acquired by Harvey Performance Company, based in Rowley, Massachusetts, USA. Harvey Performance and ATA are both established leaders in their respective geographies, and the acquisition is expected to create powerful combination across North America and Europe. ATA is a Cavan based precision tools manufacturer.

ISIF's Brian O Connor said, “ISIF’s investment in ATA is a clear example of its double bottom line mandate in action, investing on a commercial basis to support the scaling of an Irish indigenous business globally, and so supporting economic activity and the creation of high value employment in Ireland. The sale reflects a strong performance by the ATA team, a positive outcome for the company and a strong investment return for ISIF."

The National Treasury Management Agency was delighted to hold the annual NTMA Charity Cycle on 27 June this year in aid of Irish Therapy Dogs.

Over 80 of our colleagues braved the weather and cycled 100km across Dublin to fundraise for this year’s chosen charity. We are delighted to announce that the event raised €15,702 to be donated in full to Irish Therapy Dogs. A special thank you to Man O War and Bailey Brew Coffee for their hospitality on the day.

June was a fantastic month of celebration at the NTMA. Colleagues across the Agency came together to honour Pride Month with a variety of engaging activities including the annual Pride Quiz, in aid of Belong To 

Jim Deery hosted the Pride guided tour that highlighted significant moments and figures for the LGBT+ community in Dublin. Pride reminds us that the NTMA is committed year-round to creating a workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
 
A huge thank you to all who participated and contributed to making these events special. Let’s keep the spirit of Pride alive every day as we work towards a more inclusive future together.
