How to Choose the Right CRM:

1. Identify your business needs
Outline your sales process and stages. List the types of customer data you need to track.

2. Define your budget
How much are you willing and able to spend? Consider both upfront and ongoing costs.

3. Assemble a selection team
Bring together some of the people who'll use your CRM — sales, marketing, CS — to help consider your options.

4. Evaluate the key features
Do an apples-to-apples comparison of your top options. How well do they do what you need, given their price tags?

5. Request a demo and trial
A new CRM is a major investment. Take some time to test-drive your leading contenders before you dive in.

6. Collect feedback
Can your users do their work and get the data they need? Are they happy with the process?

7. Make your selection
Rely on your cost-benefit analysis, feature comparisons and feedback. And do some research to understand the implementation process and timeline.
