India Grid Trust operates infrastructure investment Company. It owns, operates, and manages power transmission networks and renewable energy assets that deliver reliable power. The firm investment objectives are to undertake activity as an infrastructure investment trust in accordance with the provisions. The company was founded on October 21, 2016 and is headquartered in New Delhi, Mumbai.

IndiGrid is India's first and largest listed power sector Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) which was established in 2016 under the SEBI InvIT Regulations. IndiGrid owns and operates ~USD 3.5 billion worth of operational assets including 49 power transmission lines and 15 substations extending over ~8,700 circuit kilometres, 22,550 MVA of transformation capacity, ~1.1 GWp of solar generation capacity, and 400 MWh of BESS (under-construction) projects across 20 states and 2 Union Territories.

 IndiGrid is AAA-rated platform sponsored by KKR and is publicly listed on Indian stock exchanges with a diversified shareholder base.

IndiGrid operates with the objective to empower the nation by delivering reliable power to each and every home while also creating value for its investors. It works towards ensuring a positive impact on India’s power connectivity and infrastructure development while delivering superior risk-adjusted returns to its unitholders. As India gears towards embracing green energy, IndiGrid aims to democratize infrastructure asset ownership, while working towards its vision of becoming the most admired yield vehicle in Asia.

Last week, IndiGrid announced its partnership with British International Investment (BII), Norfund, and Techno Electric & Engineering Co. Ltd. to develop IndiGrid’s three greenfield Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) projects in India. A strategic partnership, this will enable us to meaningfully contribute to India’s energy transition journey.
 
These three projects are expected to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy to ~6 GW across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, furthering India's commitment to sustainable energy. IndiGrid announced its results for the quarter ended June 30, 2024, delivering another quarter of robust performance and consistent growth. Revenue, EBITDA and NDCF registered remarkable growth on the back of accretive acquisitions consummated in the last year. DPU announced at INR 3.75 / unit – on track to deliver the INR 15 / unit guidance for full year.

On 10th June 2024, delegates from BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), AmpereHour Energy and IndiGrid gathered to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd's 20 MW/ 40 MWh project is India's first utility-scale standalone battery energy storage system to obtain regulatory approval under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003. A 20 MW / 40 MWh BESS project will be installed at the BSES Rajdhani Kilokari Substation in Delhi. This project holds a strategic importance in India’s renewable energy transition journey.
 
The project is awarded by BRPL and the project is supported by concessional loan from the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP). BESS project will be developed by IndiGrid along with consortium partner AmpereHour.
