Mindgrove designs state-of-the-art, scalable, and reliable System-on-Chips (SoCS) in India. These high-performance RISC-V chips can be leveraged in power-constrained environments such as industrial automation, automotive, consumer electronics, defense, security, and aviation.

Mindgrove was started by Shashwath T. R. and Sharan Srinivas J. to design cost and power-effective microprocessor technology in India, for the world. Mindgrove is headquartered in Chennai, India, and backed by IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation and IIT Madras Incubation Cell .

The journey to "tape-out" is the Road Not Taken because it is hard, and small mistakes cost at least a million dollars. But we wanted to take it anyway.

And, we recently successfully completed the Multi-project Wafer (MPW) Tape Out for our first microprocessor, MG Secure IoT, and here's the first part of our two-part video story on our "Road to Tape Out." I hope you enjoy it.

The thing about rocket launches is that it reminds everyone how beautiful great engineering looks like, and yet how hard it is to make happen. The mind is baffled that a human team made that thing go up like that, defying gravity, without exploding or deviating from path. There’s also a bit of childhood memories mixed in - when we’d take a pencil and pretend it’s whooshing off to space.

It’s like magic. 

And it’s possible because of some hard engineering. Done by people like us, working in the buildings we work in, eating the food we eat, reading the books we read. The same sea breeze washes our bodies.
