As we prepare for the 2024 Union Budget, Neuron Energy is filled with anticipation and hope. Our CEO & Co-Founder, Pratik Kamdar, outlines the key expectations and transformative potential this budget holds for the electric vehicle (EV) industry:

1. 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬: Building on the previous success of reduced customs duty on EV parts, we seek continued emphasis on sustainable transport solutions.

2. 𝐆𝐒𝐓 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: A major expectation is the revision of GST rates. We advocate for a reduced GST on entry-level two-wheelers and a uniform 5% GST on all EV spare parts to create a more equitable tax structure and encourage broader adoption.

3. 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐄-𝐈𝐈𝐈 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞: We look forward to the introduction of FAME-III, which should address previous challenges and accelerate EV adoption. Key features should include subsidised financing options and a 13% reduction in GST on batteries, making EVs more accessible and affordable.
