A New Industry for Australia - Biosecurity Threat Management

Australia can lead the world in what will become a new industry - Biosecurity Threat Management. It's a peer to quantum, AI and renewables. It will create jobs as an export industry in its own right while protecting our $80 billion agriculture industry.

We are thrilled to share that ExoFlare have officially launched after being in stealth for the last 2 years. We are also announcing a $5.3M Seed raise led by Salus Ventures, and including W23 Australia - the venture arm of Woolworths, IQT (In-Q-Tel), SparkLabs Cultiv8 as well as Robyn Denholm of Wollemi Capital, Peter Knoblanche and David and Catherine Harris AO PSM, founders of Harris Farm, among others. 

Today's global biosecurity systems are not fit-for-purpose against a backdrop of exponentially changing threats. What we are building is a new class of global infrastructure to protect the world's $10 trillion food system from biological threats. We call it Biosecurity Threat Management, and it's been built for farmers, transporters, processors, retailers and international markets. The software is being used today on;
-> ~700 sites 
-> across 7 agriculture industry groups 
-> in Australia and the Indo
-> with more than 235,000 comprehensive biosecurity risk assessments completed. 

The ExoFlare platform is being built to integrate expert knowledge, artificial intelligence, including predictive machine learning, sensing, and genomics-based diagnostics to provide industrial-grade, accelerated detection, response and recovery from biosecurity threats.

All the data collected, and the controls sit with industry, delivering business continuity benefits, assurances for market access, and operational efficiencies to agribusinesses. It also allows agribusiness to share structured data with governments as needed to help respond faster to biosecurity incursions and emergency animal declarations, as we have seen with the recent highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreaks in Victoria, NSW and ACT.

Equally important has been our engagement with the agricultural research and development sector in Australia including AgriFutures Australia, Australian Pork Limited, CSIRO, CSIRO's Data61 and Meat & Livestock Australia , and  in partnership with lead industry groups and agribusinesses from the poultry, pork, and red meat industries. We highly value the ongoing support from the Federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and State Governments including NSW Department of Primary Industries and SA Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

ExoFlare had a great time at the Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland conference. We heard major themes around roads and infrastructure, policy reform, biosecurity and safety. Our CEO, Adrian Turner followed a presentation on the biosecurity threats facing the sector, and spoke about the ExoFlare solution for managing people and animal movement biosecurity risks. If there's an incursion it's not just the livestock sector that will be impacted, it will be all the industries that rely on it. Industry and government working together.

Our team was pleased to be representing the biosecurity space in this week's AgriBusiness Connect / Agtech and Logistics Hub Demo Day for Meat & Livestock Australia at Toowoomba - helping solve enhanced traceabiliy in livestock transportation.
