What's behind the trend of ephemeral environments?

Here are some possible driving forces:

1. The configuration drift between development and production environments
2. Constraints related to developers' machines.
3. Developers require quicker feedback loops.

Ephemeral environments provide a self-serve approach for developers, QAs, and other team members to review changes in an isolated, production-like environment before merging a PR.
