We’re excited to welcome Toby Bonnett as our new Head of Innovation. He will be joining our UK office 🇬🇧 Toby, 28, has spent the last 8-9 years - nearly his entire adult life - working in the UK food service industry with BaxterStorey. He began in operations before transitioning into projects and digital transformation, where he designed and delivered locations and tech solutions for flagship clients across the UK and Europe. It was through his previous job that he discovered Kanpla, and the rest is history. His favorite dish is burrata salad 🥗. Pair it with Isle of Wight tomatoes (from his hometown), fresh basil, cold-pressed olive oil, and pile it onto fresh sourdough - it’s a sure winner, he says. At Kanpla, culture is everything 💚 We just wrapped up our annual workcation – this year in Marbella, Spain 🇪🇸 Nearly 40 of us gathered in sunny Marbella, including many new team members – some of whom had their very first day with us! As a remote-first company, we believe that meeting face-to-face is essential for building strong trust and collaboration. Here are some of the highlights: → We kicked off with a presentation on how Kanpla began and the journey that brought us to where we are today. → We took a deep dive into our future strategy, outlining key milestones and the steps we need to take now to achieve our goals. → We introduced our new company values and discussed the importance of fostering a strong feedback culture – a core part of how we work together. → From department-specific workshops to fun challenges, including an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, we enjoyed a wide range of activities. → We offered an exciting sneak peek at our upcoming rebranding, which will officially launch soon! → We explored how our tech team operates by trying our hand at directing and producing our own movie using Scrum. And, of course, we balanced all the work with plenty of fun activities, including a canyoning excursion, great food, and lots of sunshine 🌞 A special thanks to Martin Malone for organizing and planning the trip!
