"The second project for machine-to-machine (M2M) offline payments is an extension of an existing initiative with enterprise blockchain startup Keychain. Together they’ve been working on a layered payment solution with a network sitting between the cloud and physical devices. 

Now that this project is getting closer to production, Toppan Forms is getting involved in enabling the project to incorporate an authentication function into chip-based IC payment cards and payment terminals, two areas in which Toppan specializes. Keychain provides the authentication or digital identity using blockchain."

Keychain congratulates two of its partners, CMIC Corporation and Yanmar Holdings, on successfully demonstrating the value of Zero Trust in their respective industries for Japan’s Trusted Web Initiative.   
  
Of the 13 projects presented to the committee, CMIC and Yanmar represented two of only four projects that met the Trusted Web goals:   
  
1. Digital Identity and Data Control    
2. Verifiable Credentials    
3. Consensus Between Parties  
4. Data Traceability and Provenance   
  
Leveraging the Keychain Core Zero Trust framework, CMIC and Yanmar built high-fidelity solutions that increased the scope of data verification to clinical trial research data and agriculture supply-chain data diagnostics, respectively.
