The Rainbow Bridge explosion this week left many on high alert. What had happened was initially very unclear and difficult to decipher and many were concerned about the potential of a targeted attack. 

Many official sources, including the local media and traffic sources initially inaccurately reported the incident as a vehicle fire and/or crash. 

Just four minutes after the first mention of an incident on social media, however, samdesk analysts were able to accurately alert to an explosion and closure of the area. This speaks to the advantage of an AI-powered, human-backed approach to crisis detection and monitoring.

When an emergency or disruption occurs, DoorDash notifies Dashers who are actively on a delivery of any incidents, so they can stay out of harm’s way.
