🚨 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭 Our Web3 Antivirus has recently observed an address poisoning attack, where 𝐚 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 $111,500 𝐢𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 30 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬. Here’s how the scam unfolded: 1️⃣ The scam started when the user sent a small test transaction of $10 USDT to a fake address that scammers imitated a legitimate address the user had previously interacted with. Scammers were monitoring the address they poisoned into the transaction history. 2️⃣ To build credibility, the scammers returned the $10 USDT to the original address, creating a false sense of security for the user and making the transaction appear harmless and legitimate. 3️⃣ Convinced by the returned funds, the user proceeded to send a substantial transfer of $111,500 USDT to the same fake address, unknowingly delivering the funds directly to the scammers.
