We are very proud of the publication of our latest paper focused on the development of insoluble polysaccharides capable of irreversibly binding toxins A and B produced by #Clostridium -difficile infection, protecting the gut against Clostridium difficile-associated colitis. The study revealed that this combination of polysaccharides – named ToxClean - from plant cell cultures: ✅ was not toxic in vitro and in vivo, ✅ irreversibly binds toxins A and B, in vitro and in vivo, ✅ prevents Clostridium difficile-mediated cell rounding in vitro, ✅ administered orally blocks C. difficile-induced colitis, ✅ can be used to prevent C. difficile-associated colitis.
