Elle Decor ha raccontato lo Studiolo Treccani che abbiamo progettato e realizzato in occasione della Buchmesse di Francoforte: una wunderkammer contemporanea ispirata a quelle rinascimentali, dove era possibile immergersi nell'immaginario della Grande Enciclopedia del 1937. We're part of "2000/The future - The articulated present and the forms of the Future" section, which explores how design connects current realities with future possibilities. In the process of enhancing #heritage , whether tangible or intangible, it is essential to focus on creating Narrative Environments: spaces designed with custom-tailored stories, intended to transform those who experience them both emotionally and intellectually. The targeted and purposeful use of #technology , employed only when necessary to bring high-value cultural experiences to life, was at the center of Alessandro Masserdotti 's presentation at the conference on "Innovation, Digitalization, and AI in the Culture Sector," organized by the CONSIGLIO REGIONALE DEL VENETO in collaboration with the A.D.S.I. Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane and Castello di Thiene srl , held in Venice. Alessandro Masserdotti delved into the dual role of Artificial Intelligence: on one hand as a tool to enrich audiovisual narratives and give shape to intangible content, and on the other as an object of research, as seen in the Data Bugs installation, designed to demonstrate to the public how GenAI works and the impact of datasets on creating biases. A period photo in front of you: do you ever wonder what happens next? At Dotdotdot we do. And we did, in particular, when we were working on the #morphing of the images from the historical Treccani Encyclopedia for the interaction experience of the Studiolo. What would that monkey do if it could move? How would people use that strange object? There is nothing better than thinking What If?, at times. So we did and used #AI to animate the images that we felt (or knew) were the most relevant to tell the amazing story of this ground-breaking publication. Time to travel at the Frankfurter Buchmesse ! Presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024 and designed by Dotdotdot, the Treccani Studiolo is a remarkable space of wonder, a fully #immersive experience where an #interactive installation and curated works by selected authors honor and reimagine Treccani’s exceptional cultural heritage and the history of its famous Great #Encyclopedia , first published in 1937 after 12 years of dedicated work. Inspired by the tradition of the 15th and 16th century studiolo, the project fits seamlessly into the Italian Pavilion of the Buchmesse designed by Stefano Boeri as a modern Renaissance piazza. With its rich content, unique atmosphere, and creative inspiration, the Studiolo Treccani offers a preview of Treccani’s centennial celebrations, set to begin in 2025. The Treccani Studiolo is a remarkable interior, a space of wonder, where a large, arched display randomly showcases over 30,000 digitized images from the 1937 first edition of the Great Encyclopedia. These images float in space like a dynamic cloud, moving along three axes to create an immersive visual effect. Navigating through Naturalia, Mirabilia, and Artificialia, visitors access a visual and auditory #journey , where the encyclopedia’s images #morph fluidly in a unique, unrepeatable flow, while selected images turn into standalone video narratives brought to life through #AI animations. We're thrilled to share an interview with Giuseppe Antonelli from the Università degli Studi di Pavia , published in Corriere della Sera , where he discusses Multi, the Multimedia Museum of the Italian Language, showcased at the Italian Pavilion at the Frankfurter Buchmesse starting tomorrow. We designed the identity, user experience, and entire platform for this virtual museum, which opens up the Italian language to a wider audience. The immersive, interactive experience invites users to explore manuscripts, comics, games, animations, sounds, images, photos, drawings, maps, and films, uncovering fascinating insights into the richness of Italian.
