In 2023, the FC passenger vehicle sales experience a sudden surge – with the accumulative sales exceeding 1,000. The demonstration is mainly led by 4 domestic OEMs – SAIC, FAW(Hongqi), GAC and Dongfeng. They are mostly rail-hailing service cars operating in model city cluster regions and OEM headquarters cities. After experiencing sluggish market growth in Europe and America, the global FC passenger vehicle leaders Toyota and Hyundai also changed their market entry strategy in China. While inviting many media professionals for test-drive events for publicity propaganda, the sales channel is mostly open to enterprise customers. Released a new article about FC heavy-duty trucks in China. Here are takeaways from our staff. 1. Starting in 2024, the construction of hydrogen refueling stations on highways will speed up. As a result, more heavy-duty trucks powered by fuel cells may be put into operation for long-haul logistics. 2. Many 12~18-ton FC heavy-duty trucks have started the cross-province demonstration for a single trip distance of 200~300km. 3. The notable expansion of FCEVs highlights a challenge related to the scarcity of hydrogen supply. In China, this issue stems from the shortages of national regulations, which makes hydrogen refueling station (HRS) operators to bear the costs associated with transporting hydrogen from chemical industrial parks. 2. With Guangdong taking the lead in relaxing regulations for building on-site hydrogen production sites at HRS, more cities will participate in this form of relaxation, aiming to establish a 'hydrogen supply corridor' within the transportation sector. 3. Meanwhile, Hebei and Jilin pioneered in extending their relaxation policies beyond the transportation sector to foster green hydrogen production, aiming to ramp up the production capacity and incentivize downstream investment; other cities with similar pursuits are likely to adopt this regulatory flexibility. In recent years, #nuclearfusion has been attracting attention as an ultimate clean energy for future #decarbonization , with the total amount of investment in fusion companies worldwide reaching 6.21 billion US dollars in 2022. This trend is also evident in China, where many private start-up companies have recently appeared in addition to state-run research institutes that have traditionally continued nuclear fusion development, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Aiming for early social implementation of fusion technology, these private companies mainly develop small, low-cost, spherical tokamak-type fusion devices, which are different from conventional large-scale tokamak-type fusion devices. This report provides a close-up of the history of fusion technology development in China, as well as the latest trends in fusion development projects, and summarizes major technology companies, key component suppliers, value chains, and investment development trends. https://lnkd.in/g3_QaP-H
