Animal bridges are essential for reconnecting habitats split by highways, allowing wildlife to migrate safely and maintain their natural patterns. Using our Smart Construction technology, Komatsu helped bring new wildlife bridges to life along Germany’s Autobahn 14, performing necessary cutting and filling work to shape the landscape and create safe passages for animals across a major highway. With tools like drones and GPS guidance, our team worked closely with contractors to move earth precisely and efficiently, reducing impact on the surrounding habitat. This project reflects how we’re working to build in harmony with nature, promoting safety for both wildlife and road users. Ahead of the next Formula 1 race at Interlagos, Komatsu do Brasil hosted Williams Racing driver and rising motorsport star Franco Colapinto at its São Paulo facility. The young Argentine driver, who has had an interest in trucks and excavators since childhood, enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility and a Q&A with employees. The day finished with the unveiling of a special WA380 wheel loader painted in the colours of the Williams Racing FW46 car. Our partner Williams Racing enjoyed the ultimate Komatsu experience this week, as drivers Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto and Team Principal James Vowles swapped the circuit for Komatsu’s Arizona Proving Grounds. The trio experienced firsthand how Komatsu tests its cutting edge mining machines and technology, learning from expert Komatsu trainers in a variety of dozers, trucks and excavators, including the low emission, Power Agnostic 930E truck.
