In 2023, startup financing in Japan totaled 753.6 billion yen, with a record 8 companies raising over 10 billion yen INITIAL released a preliminary report on "Japan Startup Finance 2023".

In 2023, Japanese domestic startups raised 753.6 billion yen, down from a record high of 966.4 billion yen in 2022. Since some data will be revealed later, the actual figure is expected to be at least 850 billion yen. This is a decrease of about 10% in real terms from 2022, which is about the same level as in 2021.

NewsPicks has partnered with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. to launch the regional economic creation project "POTLUCK YAESU" on the 5th floor of Tokyo Midtown Yaesu.
The POTLUCK producer and designer, who proposed the project theme with the idea of "creating an initiative in Yaesu, an area where large corporations gather, to foster a cycle between Tokyo and the regions," were interviewed about the background, objectives, and efforts that led to the birth of POTLUCK YAESU.
