Hyundai Rotem H2 hydrogen tram. Photo report The South Korean manufacturer is showing its first hydrogen railcar at InnoTrans 2024. The R&D is said to have reach KRV 42.2 bln ($31.1 mln), and the first order, from the city of Daejeon, has already been placed for 34 vehicles (see https://lnkd.in/eK6pEntN for details). The rolling stock is scheduled for commencing the passenger service in late 2028. Hyundai Rotem has already published an infographic with the technical parameters of the low-floor tram (go to https://lnkd.in/euUeE4Fb for information). The tram will be equipped with four 90 kW hydrogen fuel cell units. The basic model with a height of 3.7 m will have a range of more than 150 km, while the model with an increased height of 4 m will have a range of more than 200 km. According to experts from the Russian Railways research institute, NIIAS, who attended the Berlin expo, a basic set of sensors installed on the tram implies that a driver will be slightly involved in the operation of the vehicle.
