In Jerzens hatte unser Co-Founder Tobias Sutterlüty die Möglichkeit, mit Johannes Reinstadler, dem Bürgermeister der Gemeinde über die Ziele des Projektes zu sprechen und den Wald der Gemeinde Jerzens kennenzulernen.

Gemeinsam entwickeln wir ein Waldklimaschutzprojekt, das darauf abzielt, Kohlenstoff langfristig in den Wäldern der Gemeinde Jerzens zu speichern und die Wälder für die zukünftigen Herausforderungen des Klimawandels zu stärken.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of representing Tree.ly at two exciting events at the Museumsquartier in Vienna. 

The day started with Glacier's Climate Leaders Circle - focussing on the transition of the entrepreneurial maxime from pure profit to a balance between profit and impact, where both factors should be equally valued and communicated. Together with leading entrepreneurs, including Kilian Kaminski from Refurbed, climate mitigation was discussed as a driver of innovation. Moreover, the importance for companies to further compensate the hard-to-abate emissions to get closer to net-zero emissions by investing in nature-based solutions was emphasized.

Later on, at the Speak Out Festival, renowned meteorologist Marcus Wadsak gave an impressive keynote on the climate crisis and the ways in which we can overcome it. This was followed by a panel discussion with the Austrian Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler and other great speakers on responsibility in climate protection.

💡 Sustainability World Summit 2024 - those are our takeaways: 

The recently concluded World Summit on Sustainability was more than a forum for discussion - it was a call to action. Key themes included the importance of respecting planetary boundaries and prioritizing biodiversity. “inaction is no longer an option,” as Amcor mentioned.

The Summit emphasized that the cumulative effect of small, consistent actions is what makes sustainability successful. With reference to Biotic, “Think big, start small, then scale up” was a recurring mantra!

The overarching message was clear: action for future generations is essential. Small steps can lead to significant change, and this summit provided the inspiration and tools needed to build a sustainable future - a big thank you to KEYNOTION and all participants for fostering meaningful connections and setting the stage for real change! 

We were delighted to meet so many people who share a similar vision of a sustainable planet with us, and that our forest-infused treats were so well received. We look forward to sharing more about our mission and hope you'll be on board!
