The company's precision genetic medicine platform incorporates a proprietary adeno-associated viral vector library and a novel delivery approach. Its lead product candidate is AK-OTOF, a gene therapy for the treatment of hearing loss due to mutations in the OTOF gene. The company is also developing AK-CLRN1 for the auditory manifestations of Usher syndrome 3A, or USH3A; and AK-antiVEGF for vestibular schwannoma. In addition, its precision genetic medicine platform addresses hearing loss related to genes needed for supporting cell function. Akouos is excited to attend the 30th Annual European Society of Gene and Cell Therapy (ESGCT) Congress in Brussels, Belgium. We look forward to connecting with experts from around the world at these two engagements:

Aaron Tward, Chief Scientific Officer, will be presenting an update on “Considerations in the Development of a Gene Therapy for Otoferlin Gene-mediated Hearing Loss.”

Additionally, Katherine Gribble will be presenting on "The Efficiency of Multiplexing Guide RNAs for Multi-gene CRISPR/CaS9-based Genomic Modulation" at P696 during the poster sessions.
