The company sells its products through direct sales, outside sales representatives, distributors, and resellers to mobile and PC OEMs; IoT OEMs; and automotive and consumer electronics manufacturers. The company was incorporated in 1986 and is headquartered in San Jose, California.

Micro Electronics sat with our CEO Michael Hurlston during his recent visit to Taiwan to discuss our #IoT solutions and leadership in emerging edge #AI applications. The conversation covers much of our portfolio including how we differentiate through an emphasis on processing and connectivity (per our recent introduction of Synaptics Astra (https://lnkd.in/ezg8afHw). 

Recognizing the large potential growth for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth they discuss the wide range of performance needs Synaptics is addressing. They also touch on various AI processing applications we are providing such as image enhancement, precision maintenance, user presence detection (UPD), smart energy management, smart medical insight, and Wi-Fi sensing, etc.

In automotive, Micro Electronics explains how our SmartBridge (SB7900) local dimming IC is allowing designers to achieve larger, higher contrast, and higher resolution automotive touch displays.

Imagine being able to make the display of a mobile phone, laptop, or wearable act as a high-fidelity speaker and haptic feedback source. Thanks to the ‘magic’ of #piezoelectric transducers – and some proven know-how in audio and touch technology from Synaptics – such a display could be available in devices soon. It’s based on a chip we have developed that incorporates a low-noise, high-voltage boost amplifier and a digital signal processor that sits on the device’s main board and drives a ceramic piezoelectric transducer attached to the back of the display.
