Orlando International Airport is operated by the Chief Executive Officer, who is appointed by the Authority, and his staff over 1,000 employees.

Today, we were proud to unveil the names of our three Surface Lots: Atlantis, Discovery, and Endeavour! 🚀 One of the main priorities of our strategic plan is "People" and the contributions they make to our community and airport. With this in mind, a contest was recently open to GOAA employees to rename the lots, which are located across from our Train Station. Dan Faenza, an Emergency Communications employee, drew inspiration from his love of aviation and space to name the lots. Congrats, Dan, on being selected as the winner & leaving a lasting legacy on our airport!

Recently, our Chief Creative Officer, Richard Clarke, attended the "Future Travel Experience Global 2024" conference in California. This prestigious event brings together aviation leaders to exchange insights and collaborate on advancing the industry. Under the theme 'Transforming Air Transport,' discussions centered around innovations in biometrics, AI, operational efficiency, and more. Richard led a panel titled 'Transforming the Ways Airports and Airlines Operate and Serve Passengers.' This annual conference is dedicated to enhancing passenger experience, boosting business performance, and strengthening aviation resiliency.

Today, Graham Martinez, General Manager of Menzies Aviation's Fuel Facility, hosted a fun event at MCO with employees and partners to raise awareness for their M.O.R.S.E. (Menzies Operating Responsibly, Safely, and Effectively) Week; this week highlights their core values that are essential to their work. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of his team, which ensure operations run smoothly and support our airline partners as they embark on their adventures!

JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty visited with some members of our women leadership team during a “Lunch & Learn” today. Joanna inspired us to build a team that is selfless and puts the organization and others first. She also briefly touched on the pillars that drive JetBlue’s forward strategy and discussed what makes aviation so special.

Congratulations to our Chief Development Officer, Vicki Jaramillo, on being one of the first-ever recipients of the Rosie Award presented at the Experience Kissimmee’s 10th anniversary celebration. Inspired by the rare and beautiful Roseate Spoonbill, a bird native to the Kissimmee area, the Rosie Award honors exceptional leaders in tourism. Vicki’s leadership as Board Chair with Experience Kissimmee, from 2020-2022, especially during the pandemic, was key in Osceola County’s growth as a top destination. We’re proud to see her recognized for her remarkable contributions.
