Electra Unveils Design “for EL9 Ultra-Short Hybrid-Electric Aircraft.” U.S‑based Electra Aero has unveiled this week, its design “of the groundbreaking EL9 Ultra Short hybrid-electric product aircraft”, a nine-passenger piloted aircraft built for the electric future “that redefines air travel without airports, emissions, or noise,” reports a press release. The design was presented at Electra’s HQ in Manassas, Virginia, to an audience of more than 300 guests, including leaders from the aerospace industry, partners, customers, government officials, media and friends. LIFT Japan to launch “HEXA eVTOL Pay-Per-Flights during Osaka World Expo 2025.” LIFT Aircraft recently announced it has chosen Marubeni Aerospace as the operating partner to launch LIFT Japan and its HEXA eVTOL aircraft during the Osaka World EXPO 2025, reports a press release. The event lasts six months from April 13th to October 13th. The location is in Osaka Bay, near the mouth of the Yolo River, on the man-made island of Yumeshima. Marubeni has placed its first purchase order for the HEXA after entering into a license agreement to operate LIFT’s pay-per-flight business in Japan. EHang, Enpower Collaborate “to Develop High-Performance Electric Motors and Controllers.” EHang has announced this week a long-term collaboration with Zhuhai Enpower, a pioneer in new energy vehicle (NEV) power systems, reports a press release. The aim is to develop high-performance electric motors and controllers for EHang’s autonomous eVTOL aircraft. Watch Video: “VoltAero Prepares for Production of Cassio Electric-Hybrid Aircraft at New Facility in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France.” The opening of VoltAero’s final assembly facility and HQ at Rochefort Airport last week, marks an important step toward certification and production of the company’s Cassio electric-hybrid aircraft family, reports a press release. Located at Saint Agnant in the Charente-Maritime department of France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, this purpose-built 2,400 sq. metre construction is the primary hub for production and delivery of Cassio’s aircraft, supported by VoltAero’s on-site design, engineering, flight test and administrative departments. It took just one year to build.
