The Doylestown Township Police Department reported multiple incidents of retail theft, fraud, and driving under the influence (DUI) during July 2025. A 29-year-old man was arrested for stealing clothing from Kohl’s Department Store and later found with stolen items at Barn Plaza. A Lehigh County District Attorney investigation concluded that South Whitehall Township police officers were not responsible for the death of 45-year-old Timothy Vanbilliard, who died of methamphetamine toxicity and cardiovascular disease during a confrontation at a Weis grocery store. The DA stated the use of force, including a taser, was appropriate and not deadly.
