For the first time, the more than 250 healthcare professionals who form the Team USA Medical Team have a uniform. Nobody knows the issues they are facing better than the real people in healthcare. 🩺 In April, FIGS brought 16 healthcare workers to Washington D.C. to meet with congressional and senate offices on both sides of the aisle and tell their stories first hand, raise awareness, and bring the voices of healthcare to life. At the end of May, we officially submitted our request to both the House and Senate to secure funding for funding for four critical areas: - $45 million for the Lorna Breen Act - $1.51 billion for healthcare workforce development - Funding for a tracking program to enhance healthcare providers' wellbeing - Support for work-based learning programs through the Departments of Education and Labor for the next generation of healthcare professionals This is a significant step towards supporting those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
