Further, the company provides bunion or hallux valgus correction systems, including nail systems phantom intramedullary nail systems for the treatment of severe hallux valgus; and various orthobiologics comprising bone wedges, grafts, demineralized bone matrices, bone void fillers, synthetic materials, amniotic products, and a biocompatible collagen matrix, as well as PRESERVE bone graft systems for homologous application. Additionally, it offers soft tissue fixation systems, titanium sprayed polyetheretherketone implants, nitinol staple systems, stabilization systems, and curved instruments. The company serves hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers through a network of sales representatives and stocking distributors. A Balanced Approach to the Lapidus - PATENTED Precision® Guide Gorilla® Lapidus Plating System!

Paragon 28 developed and patented its Precision® Guide technology to allow surgeons a streamlined and reproducible method of balancing their plating construct with an interfragmentary screw. The PATENTED Precision® Guide when used in conjunction with the Gorilla® Lapidus Plate provides for accurate placement of a homerun screw across the joint while avoiding plate hardware.

This guide positions the interfragmentary screw in a predictable location closing down the tension side of the joint (screw is positioned as far from plate as possible and centered through the joint).

Multiple trajectories are provided with each guide to accommodate variations in patient anatomy and the size of the bone.

The guide limits the opportunity for the crossing wire to skive and achieves a true center position through the joint no matter the starting point.

Jones Fractures are understood to be technically challenging procedures which often require a surgeon to attempt multiple passes of the K-wire into the metatarsal to achieve the desired trajectory. The soft tissue presence as well as the lateral malleolus make positioning of the K-wire very difficult.

Straight guides pushed against the side of the foot have a tendency to slip and point the K-wire medially positioning it into the 3rd or 4th metatarsal.

The patent pending PRECISION® Jones Curved K-wire Guide positions a nitinol K-wire into the center of the intramedullary canal, simplifying placement which may reduce intraoperative fluoroscopy time.

The PRECISION® Jones Curved K-Wire guide allows the surgeon to assess the position of the wire in both an AP and Lateral view prior to drilling which limits the chance of malpositioning of the K-wire. The PRECISION® Jones Curved K-wire Guide aligns with the proximal tuberosity of the 5th metatarsal while avoiding impingement of the lateral malleolus.
• Allows for alignment parallel to the long axis of the bone
• Allows surgeon’s hand to be positioned away from crowded lateral structures of the foot

The Nitinol wire will flex through the guide and then straighten and follow the path of least resistance down the intramedullary canal.
• This limits the chance of the K-wire broaching the cortex and minimizes the chance of missing the canal and “swiss cheesing” the bone which can significantly increase surgical time
