As reported by Autofile, demand for vehicle loans is down and the proportion of people in arrears has increased. Vehicle loan arrears rose in September, up 6.4%, compared to 5.4% for the same month last year. Read more below.

As reported by RNZ, demand for consumer credit is continuing to decline with households getting on top of their budgets and many only going into debt for essentials. Our latest Credit Indicator shows demand is down 2 percent compared to last year, while arrears levels are up 3.5 percent year on year.
