Two weeks ago Oriens Capital had a superb day planting trees and shrubs in association with Project Parore. We could have bought carbon credits to offset our emissions (which we track and work to minimise), however we wanted to do something that we felt was more genuine, longer term, sustainable, involved all of us as a team and which would have a positive local impact. In 2021, the Oriens Capital team established a corporate giving scheme through the Acorn Foundation. Twice a year we donate funds to worthwhile organisations who do great work in our community. In December we made a donation to the Te Aranui Youth Trust who do great work with vulnerable children in our community. The Trust runs a variety of programs including holiday programs, breakfast clubs, one-on-one mentoring and in-school ‘life skills’ programs. It also supports the Police Youth Development Team, providing interventions identified by Police staff that support youth and their families. Just prior to Christmas, Oriens Capital completed its fourth investment from Fund 2 with the acquisition of TMG Cloudland Group Limited (the Group), a newly incorporated company established to acquire 100% of Cloudland Limited (Cloudland) and Tech Management Group Limited (TMG). Cloudland and TMG are both leading IT platform and managed service providers in New Zealand, delivering a comprehensive suite of IT services to small and medium sized business particularly in the healthcare and professional services sectors. This transaction represents a merger of these two businesses and while both brands will continue to operate under their established brand names, the collaboration between both parties promises to amplify services across New Zealand and into Australia. https://lnkd.in/gVKeTTFs
