For any payments due over the long weekend, payments may show with the date of Friday 25 October, this is for processing purposes only. Payments will be made on Tuesday 29 October or Wednesday 30 October. 🔔 Working for Families: If you receive Working for Families, your payments will not be affected. You will still be paid on your usual day, Tuesday 29 October or Wednesday 30 October. 🔔 Paid Parental Leave: If you receive paid parental leave, your payments will not be affected. The next payment is Tuesday 5 or Wednesday 6 November.

Did you know that 43% of New Zealanders use the same passwords for their online accounts? Together with CERT NZ we are encouraging everyone to review their passwords and ensure they create long, strong and unique passwords. It is a good idea to use a different password for each account and avoid using personal information (like your date of birth) in your password. Passphrases (random phrases of four or more words, for example coffeecountsasameal or daffodilsbloominspringtime ) make for the best passwords. They’re easy to remember but hard for attackers to crack. If you haven't updated your myIR password recently, why not update it with a unique, easy to remember passphrase. #OwnYourOnline #CSW24

As 28 October 2024 falls on a public holiday, this due date is automatically moved to the next business day, 29 October 2024. All services will reopen at 8am on Tuesday 29 October.

This Cyber Smart Week (21 - 27 October), we're supporting CERT NZ to highlight the importance of staying secure online and showing New Zealanders what's at stake when they don't get their online security right. Did you know 32% of New Zealanders do not use two-factor authentication for their main online accounts? 2FA (two-factor authentication) is an additional layer of security that helps to protect your online accounts. You can use it to authenticate who you are every time you log in. That way, even if an attacker gets your login details, they still won’t get in. If you do not have 2FA set up, you could start with your email and social media accounts. We’re aware that there is a new scam that uses fake news articles featuring claims that New Zealanders will receive “income” or “dividend” payments from Inland Revenue. The fake claims say that money will be sent to New Zealanders after they sign up with an online investment platform. These fake news articles include photographs of New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and other New Zealand politicians and feature headlines such as: “By the order of Christopher Luxon, New Zealand residents will start receiving income from taxes.” We can confirm these claims are false. There is no pool of tax funds becoming available for distribution to New Zealanders. The use of fake news articles is becoming increasingly common so be sceptical. We do not work with online trading platforms to send out money to New Zealanders. If you see unusual claims like this in what looks like a legitimate news story, take a pause.
