Many of the major players in Shelby County’s criminal justice system are unaware of some of the services available to them. The meeting was the brainchild of Shelby County criminal court Judge David Pool who worked in conjunction with the Shelby County Office of Re-Entry DeAndre Brown to put on the fair. Alliance Healthcare Services, Memphis, TN was there to talk about the new Criminal Justice Program beginning at the penal farm. Chayla Ward, MPH, LMSW , Criminal Justice Coordinator was on site to share, network and educate fellow colleagues. Over 60 providers throughout Shelby County including drug rehabilitation programs, housing options, job training, violence intervention and mental health help were available to share what action steps they take in helping to lower recidivism in Shelby County.
