A local grant from 100 Women Who Care Utah Valley Chapter is funding not one but two spot vision screeners for our SightBuddies School Screening Program in #utah this year! This will speed up the screening process for our volunteer nurses, allowing them to detect vision problems more quickly, especially in children under six. Huge milestone. Colombia gets the first-ever delivery of cataract supplies! 🇨🇴 After five years of importation headaches, we found a local Colombian manufacturer willing to give us charity prices for cataract supplies. Our first set of kits went to Dr. Renteria at Hospital Simon Bolivar in Bogotá. Last year, Colombia screened 36,229 patients and donated 4,545 glasses.
