COSI provides an exciting and informative atmosphere for those of all ages to discover more about our environment, our accomplishments, our heritage, and ourselves.  We motivate a desire toward a better understanding of science, industry, health, and history through involvement in exhibits, demonstrations, and a variety of educational activities and experiences.  COSI is for the enrichment of the individual and for a more rewarding life on our planet, Earth.

Each year during our Catalyst fundraising event, we present the John Glenn Inspiration Award in recognition of an individual who has dedicated their life to inspiring others for the benefit of humankind, as John Glenn did. Tanny Crane was an easy choice when it came to selecting this year's winner! We are honored to celebrate her work fighting for change and supporting underserved children & communities.

We had a stellar time bringing our nature-themed Learning Lunchboxes to the future scientists of Highland Park Elementary today. Each of these hands-on science kits contains everything needed for 6 activities focused on the science of nature exploration.  An early introduction to STEAM can lead to a lifelong love of science and learning— we can't wait to see where these learners go next!

Today, in honor of Black History Month, we’re celebrating Almar Walter!

As the Vice President of Diversity at Columbus State Community College, he works to remove challenges faced by students when pursuing a college degree or certificate. Financial and social barriers, along with numerous other difficulties, can delay or deter people from continuing their education. Almar works to help our community achieve their educational goals!

Black history is being made every day by leaders & innovators right here in our community, like Almar! We’re proud to celebrate and support that work this month and throughout the year.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for last night's discussion on the value of DEI. We appreciate Columbus City Council President, Shannon Hardin and our CEO Frederic Bertley, PhD for leading this crucial conversation— and all of the community voices who took the discussion to the next level by offering their perspectives!
