It is with a heavy heart that we say our farewells to Erik Sandewall, professor emeritus and founder of the Department of Computer and Information Science at Linköping University (Sweden). Erik was a uniquely creative, visionary and inspiring researcher. He was awarded the first EurAI Distinguished Service Award in 2012 and has been a EurAI Fellow since 1999, when the program was initiated. The AI community will miss him.
