Fondation Botnar is a Swiss philanthropic foundation working to improve the health and wellbeing of young people living in cities around the world. Advocating for the inclusion of youth voices and the equitable use of AI and digital technology, we invest in and support innovative programs and research, and bring together actors from across sectors to create dialogue and partnerships.

We are a member of SwissFoundations, the association of grant-making foundations in Switzerland and commit to best practice governance in line with the principles and recommendations of the Swiss Foundation Code. Our accounting follows the guidelines of Swiss GAAP FER 21 for charitable social non-profit-organisations and our activities are supervised by the Supervisory Authority for Foundations, Swiss Federal Department of Home Affairs.

Listening to the opinions of adolescents means accessing a new world filled with inspiration and hope. Together with Fondation Botnar, we visited Romania to meet with local adolescents and young refugees from Ukraine. Our conversations were insightful, touching and uplifting at once. The adolescents are part of a unique UNICEF intervention supported by Fondation Botnar: Together, we promote emotional well-being of young people, strengthen prevention and early detection of mental disorders and facilitate referral to support services. By strengthening the public system and facilitating a public-private partnership for development we aim to create a functional model that can be replicated and scaled up at national level and beyond.
