LaunchVic is Victoria’s startup agency. Our role is to fuel the growth of Victoria’s startup ecosystem.

We do this by building the confidence and capability of Victorians to create, scale and invest in startups. 

We were established by the Victorian Government in 2016.

As 2023 comes to a close, let's reflect on Victoria's startup achievements. 

Despite a global slowdown in VC investment, the Victorian startup ecosystem continues to grow with more startups being created and an increase in employment numbers.

This growth would not be possible without the amazing founders, investors, and startup community we have here in Victoria.

30X30 scaleup Carbar offers a go-to destination for Aussie car shoppers looking for more ways to sell, subscribe and buy cars.

The next two years will be some of the biggest for the company, with CEO and Co-Founder Desmond Hang tipping that Australia will receive its first flood of second-hand electric vehicles (EVs) in the next 17 months.

“More and more Australians are looking to switch to an EV within the next few years as infrastructure improves and petrol prices continue to climb,” he tells us.

Made with food waste and a mix of compostable biopolymers, Great Wrap manufactures the only Australian-made 100% compostable stretch wrap and the world’s first compostable pallet wrap right out of their Tullamarine HQ. 

The company is the brainchild of husband and wife team Jordy Kay and Julia Kay who left their careers in winemaking and architecture behind to found  Great Wrap in 2019 with support from Startmate.

We sat down with Michelle Vu, Investment Manager at LaunchVic's Alice Anderson Fund.
