I’m thrilled to share that I’ve just completed my capstone project at The Marcy Lab School , marking the final milestone of my journey in this incredible software engineering fellowship. As I approach graduation, I’m reflecting on the amazing learning experience this capstone phase provided. I’ve not only learned the ins and outs of data engineering but also shared my knowledge through writing blogs, and ultimately built a comprehensive project that I’m incredibly proud of. The goal of my project was to transform raw Amazon sales data into actionable insights that could help businesses make data-driven decisions. By analyzing sales trends, return rates, and the impact of promotions, my project aimed to uncover key metrics that would allow businesses to optimize their strategies and improve overall performance. 🌟 Project Highlights: - Developed a robust data pipeline using dbt and Snowflake to process and transform raw sales data into meaningful business metrics. - Built and optimized staging, intermediate, and fact tables to track product performance, seasonal trends, and regional sales variations. - Implemented automated testing and utilized the dbt Evaluator to ensure my project was efficient, reliable, and met industry standards—successfully passing all evaluation tests. - Leveraged SQL for in-depth data analysis, creating detailed visualizations that provided clear insights into how factors like promotions and fulfillment methods impact sales, which could be used by business stakeholders to drive strategic decisions and optimize their operations. This capstone experience has not only solidified my technical skills but has also prepared me to take on new challenges as I transition into the next chapter of my career. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see how data engineering can turn raw information into powerful tools for business growth. As I look forward to graduation, I’m excited to bring the skills and knowledge I’ve gained into the professional world.
