The objective of the Association is to promote alternative investment activities by bringing together stakeholders in Nepal’s expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The NPEA, incorporated as a profit non-distributing entity under the Company Act, will be governed by a Board of Directors and administered by a small team of professionals.

The Board of Directors of the Nepal Private Equity Association (NPEA), led by Chairperson Mr. Siddhant Raj Pandey , met with the Economic Reform Committee (Government of Nepal), chaired by former Finance Secretary Mr. Rameshwar Khanal. Also present were representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Dr. Biswash Gauchan , Executive Director of Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) . The discussion centered on policies to support the growth of private equity and venture capital in Nepal, develop the alternative investment ecosystem, and create an enabling environment to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), while addressing current barriers to industry progress. The Nepal Private Equity Association (NPEA) and Invest for Invest for Impact Nepal (IIN) jointly organized an event titled “Unlocking the Potential of PEVC Investments in Nepal” on October 23, 2024. The program commenced with opening remarks from NPEA Chairperson Mr. Siddhant Raj Pandey . This was followed by a presentation from NPEA Manager Ms. Sabrina Adhikari , who highlighted key insights from the association’s market report, underscoring the growth trends within Nepal’s private equity industry. Mr. Anup Upreti from Pioneer Law Associates led an engaging session on Nepal’s PEVC regulatory framework outlining areas for further regulatory development to stimulate more robust investment. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the NPEA Investment Platform, designed to centralize essential PEVC investment data. This platform was inaugurated by H.E. Mr. Rob Fenn, British Ambassador to Nepal, and H.E. Dr. Danielle Meuwly, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal. Another highlight of the event was a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Buddhika Samarasinghe , Program Director at Invest for Impact Nepal, which focused on strategies to drive PEVC growth in Nepal. The event concluded with an engaging networking session and dinner.

Additionally, Ms. Sabrina Adhikari , Manager of NPEA, joined the panel titled "Private Equity can facilitate meaningful cross-sector collaboration for Nepal," alongside Mr. Aditya Dugar, Mr. Anup Acharya, and Mr. Suman Rayamajhi, in an engaging and insightful discussion. The panel discussion was moderated by Ms. Nikita Bajracharya, who expertly guided the conversation. Dolma's anniversary is a celebration for the entire PEVC industry, and NPEA is grateful to have been part of this milestone!

On August 30th, 2024, the Nepal Private Equity Association (NPEA) hosted its second community sharing session, aimed at bridging the gap between experienced professionals in the private equity and venture capital (PEVC) sector and emerging talent within the industry. The session featured Pratikshya Dahal , Senior Associate at Pioneer Law Associates , who led an engaging discussion on "Young Professionals Network: Negotiating Entry and Exit with a Smile." She discussed strategies for entering and exiting investments, as well as the importance of effective negotiation and documentation, offering attendees invaluable insights. The session was highly interactive, with active participation from all attendees.
