November marks #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth , a time to honor and celebrate the traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities. Newman's Own Foundation is proud to support #IndigenousFoodJustice as one of our core programmatic areas. In the spirit of honoring Native American foodways, we're revisiting GATHER. This James Beard Award-winning documentary traces the intentional destruction of Native American foodways and the renaissance, resilience, and inherit right to reclaim it. This film is a project of Newman's Own Foundation grantee partner First Nations Development Institute , and supports tribes and Native communities as they build sustainable foodways that improve health, strengthen food security and increase control over Native agriculture and food systems.
