We’re proud to host, alongside Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine, an immersion program for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) diversity, equity and inclusion program called Pathways. 
 
This several-week-long program involved the AAD, four Chicago-area medical schools including Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and 41 undergraduate students from across the country.  
 
For this meeting, all AAD presidential leadership — including Murad Alam, MD, who is a Northwestern Medicine dermatologist and the current president of the AAD — came to have necessary conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion in dermatology. 

Thank you to everyone who is making dermatology better by working to improve health equity and representation.

The American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA) National Conference is the largest educational meeting designed for patients and caregivers to learn the latest advances in research, treatment and care from top brain tumor experts.

Northwestern Medicine Physicians Vinai Gondi, MD, and Stephen Magill, MD, will speak during the conference, and Craig Horbinski, MD, will participate in the ABTA Alumni Research Network Meeting right before the conference.

One benefit of working at Northwestern Medicine is being invited to attend NM Days events throughout the year. These events give our staff and their families the opportunity to enjoy some fun at a discounted rate. Events over the last year have included attending professional baseball, basketball and hockey games; music performances; a comedy show; and Six Flags Great America. We capped off the summer with a big outing at Northwestern Medicine Field, home of the Kane County Cougars Baseball team.

I’m proud that we offer these events to our staff so that they can enjoy time with their families while getting to know others across the organization. Thank you to our Human Resources Department for making these happen.
