The Quantum Internet Alliance is a consortium of researchers and institutions working towards the development of a quantum internet, which aims to revolutionize communication by using the principles of quantum mechanics.

Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA) is a consortium of ~40 world-leading institutions working together to build a global Quantum Internet made in Europe. By combining QIA’s diverse interdisciplinary team, we will establish an innovative European platform for Quantum Internet development and build a full-stack prototype network that has the potential to become the first of its kind in the world. 

Led by QuTech, QIA consists of academic institutions, telecom operators, system integrators and quantum technology start-ups across eight (8) European countries. It is currently co-funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant number 101102140.

Oh, is it already halfway January? Slow down, 2024! We have just geared up for a hectic first half of the year for QIA!

Aside from the R&D activities happening in QIA sites across Europe, we will also be busy with the following activities happening soon:

1️⃣ QIA Executive Team member Stephan Ritter to present QIA at the QCI Days Vienna 2024 in January
2️⃣ Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon 2024 in Delft, Dresden, Paris and Poznań in February
3️⃣ Mobile World Congress 2024 (as part of the Quantum Flagship space) in Barcelona in February
4️⃣ APS Meeting 2024 (QIA members presenting) in Minneapolis in March
5️⃣ Co-organising Inside Quantum Technology 2024 in The Hague in April
6️⃣ Opening of QIA Internship Program 2024
7️⃣ QIA Meeting hosted by ICFO in Barcelona in June
