The Sunbird Collective is excited to welcome Dhiway as a co-maintainer for Sunbird Authenticator (AKA Sunbird RC-Registry and Credentials). Dhiway comes with a rich experience of building and maintaining open-source projects and building large communities. The Sunbird Authenticator (AKA RC) is a Sunbird building block which allows for rapid building and deployment of electronic registries through configurable schemas and workflows. It provides microservices for credential issuance and management. These credentials are instantly verifiable, available in multiple languages, are usable offline, and printable with QR codes. The Sunbird Authenticator (AKA RC) powers DPGs like DIGIT DPG , the Inji wallet, Sunbird Matchmaker (AKA Serve) and Sunbird Educator(AKA ED). This building block has enabled registries and credentialing across the healthcare and education sectors in India and impacted over a billion lives. To assist the increasing demand for credentialing and registry services across different industries globally, Dhiway and the Centre for Open Societal Systems - COSS (COSS) will work together to promote the adoption of the Sunbird Authenticator(AKA RC) and drive innovation across digital identity, data registries, digital wallets and credentialing systems. . A prominent 25-member Brazilian Government delegation came to India to engage in “DPI Dialogues 2024,” jointly hosted by COSS, IIIT-Banagalore, and EkStep Foundation . The delegation included distinguished participants from Brazil’s Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Ministry of Education, CIEB (Center for Innovation in Brazilian Education), Recife Municipality Mayor’s Office, Lemann Foundation, and the tech powerhouses DataPrev and Serpro. The 2-day DPG Tech Fusion event was hosted by the Sunbird Community in Pune on the 22nd and 23rd of March. 500+ attendees and 40+ speakers attended this event, which showcased the thought systems, platforms, solutions, and applications of the Digital Public Goods (DPGs) and Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) ecosystem. The event comprised 'Keynote Speeches,' 'Lightning Talks,' 'Panel discussions,' 'Fireside Chats,' and a 'Hackathon.' The objective of the event was to foster an atmosphere of collaboration and innovation amongst the existing DPI ecosystem and all those who were curious to learn more about this new and disruptive form of social impact technology. The 'Hackathon' had 100+ participants who leveraged existing DPI and different open-source DPG solutions to solve societal-scale problems.
