The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research actively partners with scientists to accelerate research that will transform the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Recognizing the obstacles that prevent scientific advances from improving patient outcomes, we maintain a nimble, high-impact approach to funding research through grants for basic and translational cancer research and venture investments in early-stage companies that bridge the gap between bench and bedside.

With a $1.7 million Mark Foundation Drug Discovery Award, Perlmutter Cancer Center investigator Alec Kimmelman, MD, PhD, together with Seth Parker, PhD, at the The University of British Columbia, are seeking to identify a treatment for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), one of the deadliest forms of cancer.
