✈️ Team drill at DSM Airport. Our LifeFlight trauma team in Des Moines joined forces with local emergency services to simulate a plane crash yesterday morning. With the best of the best ready to jump in, everyone worked together to handle the faux crisis quickly and safely. Proud of our crew!

UnityPoint Health - Quad Cities celebrated the opening of its Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) site in Bettendorf. The center includes a medical clinic, day center, therapy gym and other amenities under one roof.

This is what tears of joy look like. Betsy Adams, RN, was recently honored as a DAISY award winner. And for good reason. Here's what a patient had to say when her two-year-old grandson needed a hospital stay:

"My daughter and I recently spent most of the day at the hospital, because my 2-year-old grandson was hypoglycemic and at risk of having a seizure. 

Betsy took over his care later in the day and was an absolute ray of sunshine, ensuring my daughter, nine months pregnant at the time, got something to eat. She even used her own phone to show my grandson videos to distract him from the IV in his arm. She answered all our questions and some we didn't think to ask in the moment. 

That night, he was moved to different unit for observation. She made sure my daughter and grandson were comfortable for the night. When I left that evening, she escorted me back to the hospital entrance where my car was and gave me a big hug, assuring me they'd be taken care of. 

As a manager in the customer service industry, I know how important it is for customers/patients to be able to tell that you love your job. Betsy passed this test with flying colors. She is a true asset."
