Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. is one of the Philippines’ largest multi-format retailers in the Philippines, founded by the late entrepreneur John L. Gokongwei, Jr. with the opening of the first Robinsons Department Store in Manila in 1980.

At the last meeting of the Board of Directors of Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. on July 25, 2024, the Board approved the appointment of Stanley Co, 47, as President and CEO, effective January 1, 2025.
 
The appointment of Co happens alongside key developments in the Company’s Board. Effective January 1, 2025, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, 63, who was first appointed President and COO in 1997 and who has been President and CEO since 2018, will transition to the role of Chairman. She will replace Lance Gokongwei who will step down as Chairman and member of the Board to assume the role of Board Adviser. James L. Go will remain as Vice Chairman, while incoming President and CEO Co will join the Board to complete the nine-seat body.
 
Co has been with Robinsons Retail for 21 years, joining the Company's DIY Segment as Division Merchandise Manager in 2003 and appointed its Group General Manager in 2008. He was appointed Managing Director of the Food Segment on September 1, 2020 and Chief Operating Officer of Robinsons Retail on August 1, 2023. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Santo Tomas in 1998 and an MBA from De La Salle University in 2003.

Handyman Do it Best Philippines recently held its annual Store Managers Assembly from July 16 to 17, 2024. 
 
Attended by over 230 store managers and area managers, the annual event enabled participants to create and refine winning strategies that drive innovation and success while learning from each other and boosting overall team synergy.
 
The assembly was also a celebration of Handyman’s 30th year of helping the Filipino DIYer build and improve their homes through quality products and exceptional service. Top performing stores were also recognized for their contribution to Handyman’s continued growth and expansion.

Robinsons Supermarket launched its “Heart to Cart” campaign on July 20, 2024 during the annual fresh produce Freshtival at Robinsons Place Manila.
 
Featuring the stories of 10 member farmers of the Bosigan Multipurpose Cooperative, a group of over 100 Benguet farmers who supply fresh produce to Robinsons Supermarket stores in North Luzon and Bulacan, the campaign hopes to raise awareness on the importance of directly supporting local farmers and producers, advocating for sustainable production practices, and supporting local economies. 
 
Bosigan farmer Wegina Lodias shared how efforts like these benefit farmers, “Na-maximize na yung binebenta naming gulay; na-maximize na ang income; at saka siyempre, ang result, happy na ang farmer" [We get to maximize the produce we get to sell; we get to maximize our income; and then of course, the farmer is happy].
 
To further support BMPC and its member farmers, a donation was made to help purchase farm equipment and help enhance production capabilities. Present to receive the donation were Lodias, Clifford Mitas, Paulita Selvino, Jane Basuyao, and Sarah Atting, five of the 10 BMPC members whose stories were featured during the event.

Robinsons Supermarket hosted its 16th annual Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run at Bridgetowne Destination Estate in Quezon City on July 7, 2024.
 
Over 6,500 runners joined this year’s run, which highlighted individual and community health and wellbeing alongside social and environmental responsibility. Of the proceeds raised, donations were made to World Vision PH to support their child sponsorship program, CORA Philippines for their climate action initiatives, and Scholars Of Sustenance Philippines - SOS Philippines for their food rescue programs.
 
Throughout the event, designated waste segregation bins from CORA’s Eco-Ikot popup educated runners on proper waste disposal throughout the race route.

The Marketplace, Robinsons Retail’s premium food retail banner, recently opened its newest store on July 4, 2024 at Opus in Bridgetowne, Quezon City
 
Setting a milestone in sustainable retail, the new store has fully integrated an innovative refrigeration system called Extreme Transcritical Efficiency (ETE) System that replaces harmful hydrofluorocarbon and chlorofluorocarbon refrigerants with carbon dioxide, a naturally occurring, nonflammable, and nontoxic gas. Designed to minimize the effects of heat entrapment, the ETE system is also optimized to operate in warm, tropical climates resulting to substantial energy savings and lower operational costs.
 
By adopting cutting-edge, sustainable technology, The Marketplace not only aligns with global efforts in climate action but reaffirms its commitment to meeting consumer demand for sustainable business practices while delivering high-quality products and services.
